This is a high quality 102mm aperture Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope that sits atop Celestron's SLT mount. The Star Location Telescope (SLT) range has been a customer favourite for years thanks to its unique combination of high-quality optics, a user-friendly computerised interface, and a sturdy single fork arm mount.
This telescope comes with a pre-assembled, adjustable stainless-steel tripod, quick release fork arm, NexStar+ computerised hand control, 102mm Maksutov-Cassegrain optical tube, and lots of bonus accessories.
The entire telescope kit weighs in at just 16 pounds. The simple, no-tool assembly and fast SkyAlign alignment procedure will have you ready to observe in minutes. This makes NexStar 102SLT your perfect companion for impromptu observing sessions and all-night stargazing marathons alike.
Your NexStar 102SLT will reveal details of the lunar surface, Venus and its phases, the polar caps on Mars, Jupiter and its four moons, and Saturn with its rings plainly visible. It can also be used as a land-based spotting telescope for daytime and wildlife observations.
Accessories Included - Your telescope includes a StarPointer™ red dot finderscope, a star diagonal, and two eyepieces (25mm and 9mm). The two eyepieces offer different magnifications for low- or high-powered observing. The star diagonal provides a right-side-up view and a more comfortable viewing angle when looking up at the sky. The StarPointer™ red dot finderscope will help you quickly center an object in your eyepiece for easier observing.
NexStar 102SLT is ready to grow with you as you become a more experienced amateur astronomer. It’s compatible with all Celestron’s latest accessories, including StarSense AutoAlign, SkyPortal WiFi module, and PowerTank Lithium.
Budget for a power supply, a weak light pollution filter such as the Baader 1.25” Neodymium filter, an A4 sheet of Baader Astrosolar, a single 1.25” Baader polarizing filter and a wide-angle eyepiece (something with a wider apparent field than about 60 degrees).
Celestron’s telescopes reach a new level with integrated WiFi! Leave your hand control behind and slew to all the best celestial objects with a tap of your smart device. Connect your device to your WiFi telescope’s built-in wireless network and explore the universe with Celestron’s SkyPortal mobile app for iOS and Android.
|Celestron’s newest planetarium app is an astronomy suite that redefines how you experience the night sky. Explore the Solar System, 120,000 stars, over 200 star clusters, nebulae, galaxies, and dozens of asteroids, comets, and satellites—including the ISS. SkyPortal includes everything you need to experience the night sky in an exciting new way.|
With Celestron’s patented StarSense Technology, telescope alignment has never been easier! Just attach the StarSense AutoAlign accessory, push the Align button on the hand control or smart device, and StarSense begins capturing and comparing images of the night sky against its internal database.
In about three minutes, it’s gathered enough information to triangulate its position and align itself. Then, press the Sky Tour button: StarSense will automatically slew to all the best stars, planets, galaxies, and more currently visible in the night sky.
